This event is now over
We are living through interesting times. A few years down the line, four generations coming together in a workforce will be more a norm than an exception. The Millennials are marching forth and the older guard is already well entrenched in positions of power within organizations.
The Future-ready HR is a new organism. Its DNA is much different from the “hiring-firing monster” or the “payroll processing creature” of the yore. Stripped of the most conventional and operational tags, the HR community has already heralded upon a journey of reinvention. The Refresh button has been pressed!
So what would a HR 2020 have to look like? The best point to begin would be to capture the changes that will have to be addressed. Entry of Millennials into the workforce Cross generational employee policies Globalized workforce and thus alignment of organizational vision Mobility of people and hence cross cultural mindset and knowledge of regulatory environments Predictive Analysis & modeling for better strategy Cross fertilization of line and HR roles in organizations The changing Gender mix and the related attitudinal tweaking Mentorship and reverse learning Temping and HR outsourcing Pipeline of leadership and succession planning And last but not the least, a business sentiment that could be better
Given that the HR community is presently handling all these transitions and trying to find its relevance therein, it is time, we get into a huddle once again in Chennai, at the NASSCOM HR Summit 2012 between July 25 and 26.
